It is believed that this term gained widespread usage during the reigns of the Srivijaya and Majapahit empires, which were notable for their commercial and maritime prowess from the 7th to the 13th centuries.

Our dance group specializes in contemporary traditional dance and takes inspiration from the ceremonial dances of our ancestors. Our dance company offers a range of training classes to foster deep self-esteem, discipline, cooperation, self-expression, and leadership skills in individuals. Our mission is to promote the preservation and evolution of traditional dance forms, while also providing a platform for artistic expression and personal growth. Kabil is from Christmas Island and met Nova in Jakarta in 2017, they met while Kabil is transiting on his travel from Perth to Christmas Island. They got Married in 2019 and now living together in Perth.
​Kabil cease his employment after 10 years of working in preventive maintenance as a groundsman at Perth Airport,, and Nova cease her employment as a school teacher in Jakarta to live in Perth late 2019.
In 2020 they were actively involved with volunteering work, with Nova choreographing dances for local community event in Perth while Kabil worked odd casual job and organising music and dance rehearsal on the weekend at their home.
A team of enthusiast musicians and dancers were recruit and together they have become close friends. The idea of establishing a business organisation pop up, while discussing to promote the people of the archipelagoes cultural dance and entertainment and to cover the cost promoting an event.
The name Nusantarian reflect the people of the land in between ( Archipelagoes ) and the Kulture is what we share in common.
